It would be nice to have a feature to shift the currently selected notes left or right on a staff. Along with shifting the notes as notated, the attack and duration would be shifted as well.

For example, let's say I have two quarter notes which start at beats 2 and 3 respectively. I would like to shift them both as is, to beats 1 and 2.

Right now, the closest thing that does that right now, is to copy the notes, then select the target area where you would like them to appear, and paste the notes.

Hi Alex,

You can already shift notes via the Piano Roll.

1. Piano Roll tab, with the "Edit both as notated and as performed" button on (first button in the second level).
2. Select the note(s) you want to shift.
3. Press "Shift" and the left or right arrow button on your keyboard OR click the "Shift" button with 4 arrows on it (there is one for the left and one for the right), which will shift the notation and the performance.

I see that right now there is a problem with shifting notes to the left across a barline (shifting right across a barline works fine). I'll report that problem (Mark - task 1881), but moving notes within a bar works fine.

ttfn,
Sherry

Yep, I just tried it. It works fine. Can this thread be closed?

Howdy Alex,

We typically leave threads like this open, so others can see such answers to questions if they're searching the forum.

ttfn,
Sherry
