I have purchased the Nottation Software, and it works well. However, I can't back it up. When I run BACKUP.EXE, I get a dialog box which says, "Cannot backup DATA.TAG file. Would you like to insert another disk and try again?" There is a DATA.TAG file in the backup directory, but no matter how I try to use the backup utility, it will not work. How can I get around this problem? Thanks in advance. Bob Coppedge. |

One or two other users have reported this problem. My best guess is that the floppy disk you are using does not have the full 1.4Mb available because some portions of it have been deallocated due to bad sectors when it was formatted. Before you do the backup, make sure that all three floppies have the full 1.4Mb available. I'd appreciate your reporting back whether the above suggestion works. If not, I'll explore this with you further. Thanks -- Mark |

Is it possible to back-up on CD. I tried but I kept getting a message that program couldn't read the e-drive? Thanks |

Hello, Chris You can back up the purchased copy of MidiNotate to a CD by simply copying the files in the directory C:\Program Files\Notation Software, Inc\MidiNotate\Backup Cheers -- Mark |

Hi Mark, I'm trying to back up MidiNotate to a CD-R, but I keep on getting the message 'Cannot backup DATA.TAG file'. My Cd's have 700 Mb of space, so there shouldn't be a problem there. I tried copying the files to my e drive and I got the message 'Cannot copy data3 - access is denied'. Should I try it on Floppy disk? Do you have any ideas, please? Thanks in advance Jonathan Roberts |

Johnathan To back up MidiNotate to CD-ROM it is easier to just copy the file MidiNotate409Setup.exe to the CD-ROM than it is to use the MidiNotate Backup Utility. Cheers -- Mark |
