Mark,

This crash is reproduceble.
I have setup a notation from scratch on in v 2.03.
Composer is in windows or page view. I press Shift + C to get the chords menu. Click with the mouse somewhere on the page and Composer immediately disappears. I don't see a workaround to enter Chord names, so I cannot complete new notations.

I also tested this on some older notation files, but here Composer did not crash. I have added the new notation file for your investigation.

application/octet-stream
042 Potporie Reebruine Ogen ea.not (43.6 k)

I have added a few chords on the LH staff and then tried the transcribe chords function. This command also seems not to be effective. The show/hide chord function does not help here.

Cheers Jaap

Hello Jaap,

Thanks for this report. Too bad I didn't see it yesterday when I was in a rush to get 2.0.4. This is another high priority bug that I'll need to fix very soon. Thanks for the report.

Cheers

Hello Jaap,

I've now fixed the bug in which adding a chord aborted Composer in your 042_Potporie...not file.

Somehow this file had some corrupted data. Has it had some "difficult" history, recently or in the past?

I've prepared a 2.0.4A maintenance release that fixes the corrupted data. You can download the 2.0.4->2.0.4A patch from: www.notation.com/Composer204to204APatch.exe

Unless I hear reports of this problem from others, I'll just leave this 2.0.4A maintenance release buried here in this part of the forum. If I do hear other reports of the problem, then I'll add this 2.0.4A maintenance release to the www.notation.com/ComposerUpdate.htm page.

Thanks for reporting this problem. I think we have a quick, happy solution for it here.

Cheers

I did some quick tests and it seems to solve the problem.

and report further success.
