I don't know how much trouble this would be, but you could make the tabs just like the tabs of some internet browsers. You know, right-click on a tab, select new tab, which would then display the home screen of Composer (not a web page). Then either open a new song in the new tab or (ideally) a web page. This way, two or more web sites could be opened at once in Composer, useful for those converting internet-received sheetmusic to midi. For this, a menu would be needed for the tab, and I think "New Tab" and "Close" are the only options they would need. ~Daniel |

Hello Daniel, I'm not familiar with this style of tabs. If this is a style that is very popular, I'd be interested in taking a look at it. Could you point me to an example of this in a very popular program? Cheers -- Mark

Mozilla Firefox and Maxthon Browser work like this, and even the new IE version 7 will too. http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/default.mspx http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/tabs.html A quote from this last site,
quote:lets you load Web pages in separate tabs of a single browser window, so you can jump between them quickly and easily... without filling your desktop with new, unorganized browser windows.

Hello Daniel, I use FireFox fairly often, and like the multiple tabs. Funny, but I never stumbled into right-clicking the tab bar to add tabs. I have been clicking a FireFox icon outside of FireFox to open another tab, and never have thought about it any more than that-- this was so much better than multiple instances of IE. I could add this right-click tab feature to MidiNotate, but that's low priority compared to lots of other things. It's easy enough to open another tab with File New, File Open, or File Browse the Internet. I'll file this suggestion away for the future. Thanks for the suggestion. Cheers -- Mark |
