Hi Mark, I am excited about your new composer and I appreciate the opportunity to share experiences with you and other users within a forum. However, this forum is confusing to me. I don't easily find the posting I have contributed to. The headings / tree do not allow to obtain a fast overview. I understand that the structure should facilitate direct connection to the user guide. But that is not important to me. I wonder what others say. Jörg |

Hello Joerge, Thanks for your feedback on this forum itself. I'll be listening to what others say. Cheers -- Mark |

I'll agree with Joerg about finding postings, Mark. I believe there are functions in the Search engine that can do that, though. What I usually do is "Last 3 days" and that pulls up both my latest postings and anything since I was last on. It may be a question of getting used to the forum structure, though. Mark's mind is usually quite logical, Joerg! |

Hi, Mark: I've just noticed that there doesn't seem to be any way to get back to your home page from the forum, short of calling up the www.notation.com bookmark again. Perhaps as "Go to Notation Software Homepage" link would be in order. David |

Howdy David, If you look up at the "Notation Software" bar across the top, you should see links for "Home, Purchase, Download, Support, Forum, Site Map, About Us", and they should stay anchored as you scroll through any of the topics. Clicking on "Home" does indeed take you there ttfn, Sherry

Hmm, they don't appear here. Wait a minute. Ah-ha. I go back and reload the tree view and they come up. But they disappear as you down the thread. Okay, I know now. Thanks.

Hello David, What are the steps, again, for losing the Notation Software bar across the bar? It happens to me sometimes also. I'm not sure I'll be able to fix this, as I have purchased the forum software from another company (www.discusware.com). In general, I think their forum software is good. Cheers -- Mark |

Howdy, I'm just wondering what browser you guys are using to check the forum. I recall back when I was using MS Internet Explorer, I would sometimes get weirdness in the top "Notation Software" menu bar. Since I've switched over to Firefox, though, I don't recall having any problems at all. Just another clue to throw on the pile ttfn, Sherry |

Hi Sherry, I know, you're just trying to get us to switch from IE to FireFox. Cheers -- Mark |

Howdy Mark, It's almost like you're psychic - how did you know? ;) It is true, though, that I haven't had any problems with the banner at all since switching ttfn, Sherry "lovesFirefox" Crann |

Hi, guys: I'm using Netscape 7.2 (which is Mozilla, right? I can't keep up). The link frame appears when the forum topics are first displayed, but disappears if you use <right> "Open in link new window". If you call up the link in the original window the frame stays. My usual pattern is to call up the forum, then click on "Last 1" day messages, then use <right> "Open in link new window" to look at each thread (I'm a multi-tasking kind of guy ). Then I'll often go to the original window and call up the next site that I habitually visit (got to find out my Formula One racing news!), meaning I don't have the original window to go back to, thus I'm not used to seeing the link frame at the top of the page. I don't think this is a big deal, Mark. I only needed it a day or so ago in the middle of a thread, to go back and check whether I had the latest update, and that's probably the first time in -- how many years, now? I wouldn't worry about it if it's not an easy thing to do.

Howdy David and Mark I think there is some relationship between Netscape and Mozilla (the original), but the Firefox (from my understanding, which may be worthless) is a whole 'nother animal, "Firesomething" notwithstanding* It uses tabbed browsing, and I can switch back and forth between tabs, or open things in a new tab, and I've never lost the Notation Software bar. ttfn, Sherry * There is a fun extension that you can get (and I have it) called "Firesomething", that changes the name of the browser, each time you open it, to "some descriptor""some animal". For instance, I've had "Hypnoamoeba" or "Moonseal". A small bit of diversion ;) |

Hello David, That you use "Open link in new window" explains by the Notation Software navigation bar disappears. There's probably not anything I can to do to force the navigation bar to appear in the second window. It has to do with the HTML "frames" approach that the forum forces me to use to display the navigation bar. Cheers -- Mark |
