The complete "Web Operas" have MIDI files without the words included; you may minimize the score during playback in order to sing along using the lyrics on the web page. When you open a karaoke file (indicated by the .kar ending rather than the .mid of a MIDI file), you will see a pop up window that says "Preparing Sing-Along Part." At this point, choose OK to display just the melody line with lyrics or choose Cancel to display the full arrangement.
William Gilbert page at Classical Musical MIDI - This page has a nice biography of William Gilbert and some sequences of some of Gilbert and Sullivan's collaborative works.
Also see our Opera page.
With the shutdown of GeoCities, a number of excellent webpages which hosted MIDI files have been lost. If you know of the new location for a website that once was here, please let us know about it!
