Blues MIDI Song Files

A list of the best web sites hosting MIDI files for blues music, mostly free downloads.

Jazz and Blues at MusicStudents.com - A site with blues and jazz MIDI files. To access the MIDI files, click on a song title in the list on the main page. Then, on the page for that particular song, click the "Get the soundfile!" button. You can choose what key you want for the file you download, or simply use Notation's Transpose feature to easily change the key of any MIDI file you work with.

Austin Night Life Blues - An eclectic mix of various blues genres, the files are in alphabetical order by the writer's last name. Click on the song title to download the song.

Oldtime, Goodtime Music - This website by Herbert Harari has "Blues, Jazz, Dixieland, Latin,Country, [and] Standards." The songs are listed in alphabetical order (see the bottom of this first page for the links to "Songs from A -L" and "Songs from M - Z"), with original tunes by Mr. Harari asterisked. The quality of the files varies somewhat, but the song list is quite extensive.

Public Domain Blues Songs - Another section of Benjamin Robert Tubb's excellent Public Domain site. This page has blues songs from 1850 - 1923. The songs are listed by year, then by alphabetical order of the title. The song text and the MIDI files are available as indicated in the table. For these files, you click on the lyricist's or the composer's name to download the file.

Jack's Blues Page - A good variety of blues styles are available here for easy download. The songs are listed in alphabetical order, with lots of information about each song listed in the table. Note that this is just the first page of three, so be sure to see the box of links below the table of songs for more.

D & D's Music Hall - This website has two pages of MIDI files that are dedicated to Big Band, Blues,Rag, Polkas, and Jazz. Those would be page 6 and page 7. The files are in alphabetical order by title on each page.
