Formatting Chord Names Rehearsal Marks as Text

Temporarily Hiding or Permanently Removing Chord Names

You can temporarily hide chord names so that they are not displayed. Composer shows or hides chord names indepedently in each score part. For example, you can show chord names in a keyboard or piano part and hide them in a vocal part.

You can also permanently remove chord names from the song.

Generate/prcarrow.gif To hide chord names in the current score part:

1.      With the mouse, navigate to the Chord Palette.

 Type SHIFT+C. If the Clef Palette is displayed, type SHIFT+C a second time for the Chord Palette.

2.      In the Chord Name Menu, turn off the checkmark by the Show Chord Names menu item.

-- OR --

Click to toggle off the Show Chord Names Generate/temporarily_hiding_or_pe.jpg button in the Chord Name Palette.

-- OR --

Type "qscn" for Quick Show (or Hide) Chord Name.

Generate/prcarrow.gif To show chord names that have been hidden:

Generate/B8.gif      Repeat the above procedure to toggle on the Show Chord Names checkmark in the Chord menu, or click to toggle on the Show Chord Names Generate/temporarily_hiding_or_pe1.jpg button.

Generate/prcarrow.gif To permanently remove all chord names from the song.

Generate/B851.gif      Choose the Remove Chord Names command in the Chord menu.
