Play, Mute, or Solo Track Select Track

Instrument Sound Selection

Among the track controls, the Instrument Sound Selection Generate/instrument_sound_selecti.jpg button, which looks like a female MIDI cable connector, lets you change the sound of a track. You can change the instrument sound even while the song is playing.

If the track controls are not visible, and you do not wish to display them, then click right mouse button in an empty area of one of the track's staves.

Composer will display a pop-up menu such as illustrated here:

In the pop-up menu, choose the Instrument Sound command.

For details, see Changing the Instrument Sound of a Track.
