Copying the Format of a Part to Other Parts

Using commands in the Part menu, you can specify many details about how a part is formatted: the page setup, overall font size, horizontal and vertical spacing, font size for types of text, showing or hiding of types of music annotations, showing or hiding of instrument names, hiding empty staves and displaying "easy notes".

Some of the Part menu commands let you apply formatting characterics not only to the currently viewed part, but also to other parts that you specify in a dialog box. Some other Part menu commands let you apply formatting characteristics only to the currently viewed part.

If you have prepared a part with formatting characteristics that you would like to apply to other parts, there is an easy way to do that. For example, you might use the Extract Parts command to extract many parts from a conductor's score, and then work on the formatting of one of the parts. Once you are happy with how you have formatted one of the parts, you can easily apply this formatting to other parts.
