Cloning a Track
Sometimes you may want to clone (copy) an entire track, such as to back up a track before you experiment with some new musical ideas for that track. Or, you may want to make a copy of a recording "take" before you record a second take. The procedure for cloning a track is simple.
To create a new track as a copy of another:
1.
If the track controls are visible, then click the Track Selection
button to select the first track:

2. Choose the Clone Track command from the Track menu.
-- OR --
Type "qct" for Quick Clone Track.
Composer will display the Clone Track dialog box.
3. In the Clone Track dialog box, confirm the track you selected in step #1.
-- OR --
Select a track that you wish to copy.
4. If you are cloning the track for backup purposes, then you will likely want to mute the newly cloned track. See Muting and Soloing Tracks for instructions.
