Changing Object Properties Using Palettes

The following general instructions apply to most types of objects.

In order to edit a music object, or multiple objects, you must first select it, as described in the previous topic.

Once you have selected the one or more objects, Composer will display a palette that offers options for editing that type of object. The palette indicates properties of the currently selected objects by showing one or more buttons in the down position. If multiple objects are selected, but they have different properties, then the buttons will be shown with a light gray background, or will be drawn in a lighter shade of color, to indicate ambiguity, as illustrated below:

Generate/prcarrow.gif To edit one or more selected objects (of the same type) using the palette:

1.      Follow one of the two procedures above for selecting one or for selecting multiple objects.

2.      Click buttons in the palette to change the attributes of the currently selected object(s).

For example, if you click the sixteenth note button in the above example, both the selected quarter note and eighth note will change to sixteenth notes:
