Alternative Methods for Selecting Notes Automatically Playing Notes When Selected

Selecting Notes and Advancing to the Next (or Previous) Note

In Select Mode, once you have selected a note, chord, or rest, you can advance the selection to the next (or previous) note, chord, or rest in the same staff by using a keystroke instead of a mouse click. Also, in Add Mode, if you are entering notes on top of existing notes, you can advance the selection from the most recently added note to the next note after.

Generate/prcarrow.gif To advance the selection to the next or previous note, chord or rest:

Generate/B833.gif      Use the RightArrowKey.gif key to advance to the next note, chord or rest. Use the LeftArrowKey.gif key to go back to the previous note, chord or rest.

If there are upper and lower voice chords at the same location in the staff, Composer advances forward from the upper voice to the lower voice, and backward from the lower voice to the upper voice.

Composer automatically turns pages as necessary to advance to the next or previous chord or rest.

By default, Composer plays the newly selected note or chord, using the instrument sound and loudness (MIDI velocity) that would be used for the note or chord during normal song playback. You can optionally turn off the automatic playing of notes when selected.
